Description
The original playground octopus has its home in Kitashikahama Park in a suburb of Tokyo, the Japanese capital. It comes with a number of orifices, slides, and the option to crawl over or under various obstacles.
During the construction process by experienced Japanese construction workers, the City of Copenhagen received a Christmas card from Futaba Public Nursery School, a kindergarten near the octopus in Tokyo. The children had been discussing the Danish copy and were inquiring, among other things, whether Danish children play in the same way they do.
They enclosed a number of octopus-inspired drawings and a photo of themselves with their own octopus in Japan.
