Description
The bollard is located outside the Lord’s Bar, a popular restaurant in the town of Mbara in western Uganda. Allegedly, the name of the town harks back to British colonisers’ mispronunciation of the local term “emburara", a tall grass which used to be prevalent in that area. However, the grass has almost disappeared today due to intensive grazing and bush fires. This has proven disastrous for the local traditional dish eshabwe. The Emburara grass would cause the cows to produce a special adipose milk so crucial to the butter-based dish which in the area is said to be an integral part of any gratifying wedding reception.
